SHELTER HOME FUND The residents of the new Shelter Home were able to move into the newly renovated building in the centre of Dzivaresekwa on 1 June 2007. The house is located only 100 metres from the site where the Dzikwa Activity Centre is to be built. It has seven rooms and a kitchen building and in addition to our own children, houses a policeman and his family as well as the matron who is in charge of the children. Renovation of the new Shelter Home began on 2 May 2007 and included finishing the incomplete ceilings and two new toilets. The doors were repaired and the walls painted. The total cost of the renovation came to € 12,000. The Shelter Home provides accommodation for children whose home conditions are inadequate for a school child.
